Malestrom... seriously? I managed to 4 man a few groups of Ice Imps after I got my Gifts of the Traveller. I only ran into trouble when I tried taking on 20 of them in a really narrow passage along with a pair of Siege Ice Golems.

And that's the reason I very rarely ever use the Fire Henchmen. That and they always managed to make mobs flee into another group with Fire Storm.
